PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD
This unit standard will be useful to people who wish to discover more about Christian spirituality and formation and apply these insights to the Christian ministry in a church and social context.
People credited with this unit standard are able to identify and evaluate several classical and contemporary expressions of Christian spirituality, reflect upon their own faith journey within the context of their faith community and social context and make a constructive contribution to the Christian formation (discipleship) and ministry of other individuals and groups within a social context.

Investigate the nature and importance of the spiritual disciplines, spiritual formation (discipleship), and spiritual struggle or conflict for individuals and church groups within different social contexts
Describe the effects of the practice of Christian spirituality, especially on the Christian character, fellowship and ministry of individuals and groups within a social context by studying the lives of a few historical and contemporary Christians
