1.1 A Research report is designed, carried out and written up.
1.2 Appropriate research methods/techniques are used to develop solution to problems.
1.3 Data is recording and summarised in an accurate and usable format.
1.4 Meaningful conclusions are drawn about the significance and value of the research problem.

Associated Assessment Criteria for Exit Level Outcome 2:

2.1 Existing infrastructures are analysed to determine their suitability for the organisation.
2.2 Risk management practices are applied.
2.3 System development methodologies and tools are analysed to demonstrate an understanding of their strengths and weaknesses.
2.4 Draft procedures for the disposal of systems and infrastructure are developed.

Associated Assessment Criteria for Exit Level Outcome 3:

3.1 The business impact of current technology trends on organisations are evaluated holistically.
3.2 Knowledge and skill in determining the trends with the most likely positive impact on an organisation are applied.
3.3 The complimentary relationship between IT trends and IT strategy is critically analysed.
3.4 The techniques for the design, implementation and monitoring of security (e.g. threat and risk management, sensitivity analysis, privacy impact assessment) are analysed.
3.5 Processes related to monitoring and responding to security incidents (e.g. escalation procedures, emergency incident response team) are designed.

Associated Assessment Criteria for Exit Level Outcome 4:

4.1 The effect of laws and regulations on Information Systems audit planning is evaluated.
4.2 The risk management process is evaluated.
4.3 CobiT as a best practice is analysed.
4.4 The various types of audits that can be performed are evaluated and compared.

Associated Assessment Criteria for Exit Level Outcome 5:

5.1 Service-level management best practices are compared and evaluated.
5.2 Operations management best practices are compared and evaluated.
5.3 The functionality of the Information and Technology infrastructure is analysed and evaluated.
5.4 Knowledge on when to invoke the Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Plans are demonstrated.
5.5 Business continuity strategies and its relation to business objectives are understood and evaluated.
5.6 The adequacy and currency of Business Continuity plans are evaluated.
5.7 Information and Technology governance frameworks are analysed.
5.8 The purpose of Information and Technology strategies, policies, standards and procedures for an organisation and the essential elements of each are analysed.
5.9 Relevant legislative and regulatory issues (e.g. privacy, intellectual property, corporate governance requirements) are analysed and interpreted.

Integrated Assessment:

Assessment includes on-line discussions, interactive exercises using Edulink, presentations in class, case study discussions, assignments, tests and summative examinations.
