The assesment of creative, performance and technical skills takes the form of practical public evaluation

Competence and ability in this area are demonstrated if the student is able to show an adequate degree of proficiency in the specific skills taught and in their application in a practical performance context.

Students should be able, under supervision, to present properly edited written assignments in a logical and coherent manner, exhibiting an acceptable standard of academic Afrikaans or English

Adequate knowledge of the history and theoretical foundations of music is assessed through written tests and examinations

Integrated Assessment

Integrated assessment takes place by means of regular public performances. Students work towards two public solo performances in the final year for examination purposes.

The students’ ability to integrate practical and academic knowledge, including technical skill, aesthetic insight and performance skills are assessed by both internal and external examiners.
