Corrective and preventive maintenance of equipment is performed.

3.1 Principles of Quality Assurance are explained in the context of the tests performed.

Quality Control and Quality Assurance results are evaluated and interpreted and appropriate action is taken.

3.2 SOP`s are assessed, reviewed and updated where necessary.

Instruments are monitored for efficient functioning and appropriate action is taken.

4.1 Comply with the relevant sections of the OHS-Act on NOSA regulations.

Wear applicable protective clothing.

Knowledge of personal vaccination and booster requirements is demonstrated

Use equipment and experimental materials safely

Waste material is disposed of safely and correctly.

4.2 The Code of Ethics for the profession is complied with.

4.3 Comply with the relevant sectors of the Animal Protection Act and the Code of Ethics.

Integrated assessment:

Theory and laboratory practice are assessed in written, oral and practical examinations, tests and projects. Learners have to demonstrate and integrate their knowledge and skills in the performance of practical laboratory procedures and techniques, as individuals and/or as part of a team. Experiential learning and assessment is integrated into all exit level outcomes.
