Assessment criteria associated with Critical Cross-Field Outcomes:

Develop critical evaluation and problem-solving skills in various clinical settings.
Establish partnership with communities/groups.
Develop collaboration and network strategy in partnership with communities and other health care providers.

Apply ethical and legal principles in decision-making and nursing practice when dealing with individuals, families and communities.

Assessment criteria associated with Specific Outcomes:

Create a therapeutic environment to promote health and to prevent illness.
Provide promotive, preventive, curative and rehabilitative care to and with individuals, families and communities.
Utilise the nursing process to meet the physical, psychological, social and spiritual needs of individuals and groups in a multiplicity of settings.
Participate in research projects as an individual/member of a group in order to evaluate and improve nursing care.
Integrate her knowledge of culture, values, beliefs and human rights in meeting the needs of individuals and groups.
Empower co-workers, individuals, groups and communities with the necessary knowledge and skills.
Participate actively in the education and training, socialisation and nurturing of the neophyte into the profession.
Encourage involvement and active participation of communities in the identification of health care needs, prioritisation, planning, implementation and evaluation of intervention strategies to promote self-reliance.
Identify and utilise available human and material resources with and within the community.
Initiate and monitor community projects.
Analyse, document, report and utilise accurately all relevant information on the situation and nursing care of individuals, families and communities to facilitate continuity of care.

Theory: 90-120 periods: 2 X 2 hour papers or 1 X 3 hour paper;
45-60 periods: 1 X 2 hour paper.

Practica: Objective Structured Clinical Evaluation (OSCE) will be done in all nursing science courses.
