A comprehensive range of assessment criteria will be used to determine learner achievement. The overall criteria will include, but will not be confined to:
1. A sound understanding of the principles and concepts of education, science and technology;
2. Ability to facilitate/teach in the school environment;
3. Ability to plan and utilize and apply technology in the laboratory situation;
4. Interpret experimental results and prepare reports;
5. Demonstrate an awareness of safe workplace/laboratory practice;
6. Ability to work independently and as a team members;
7. Demonstrate ability to work in a community, understand community needs and cultural diversity in regards to science and technology and its application in everyday life.
INTEGRATED ASSESSMENT
Continuous and authentic assessment strategies will be utilised in the evaluation of learners. Learners will have multiple opportunities using any three of the following methods of assessment:
Regular tests (written and oral)
Examinations (written and oral)
Practical teaching in the school environment
Laboratory exercises and reports
Written and oral presentations of mini projects or seminars (as individuals or in group context
Final summative assessment at the end of the courses by internal examination
